Foundation

A portion of the proceeds from Borboleta bags goes directly to The Ocean of Wisdom Foundation (www.owfo.org), which is a registered nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by our designer Veronica Race.

The foundation’s goal is to improve the lives of underprivileged students (some hill tribe) in Thailand. We advocate for lower overhead cost and more productivity. We don’t believe in spending a lot of money on marketing and overhead costs.Because the more spent on those costs, the less could be spent on those who really are in need. We make sure that at least 91% of the donations go straight to improving the underprivileged children’s lives.

Soup kitchen

After many years of working in the field, our team realized that many, many students go to school hungry. Most of their parents are day laborers and are unable to provide healthy and hearty breakfast for their children. As we all know that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. We have donated more than 100,000 meals to date.

Books and educational software

Education in rural parts of Thailand remains lacking. This is where we come in. We donate books and provide educational software to schools in remote areas. We are donating books for the library, medical supplies, art supplies, bicycles etc for 16 underprivileged schools around Thailand (2,0000+ students).
